Terms & Conditions

Please read our terms and conditions carefully before using our services

Effective Date: August 1, 2026

Welcome to OC Mobility Rentals. By using our website or renting equipment from us, you agree to these Terms & Conditions. Please read them carefully.

1. Rental Eligibility & Equipment Limits

  • You must be at least 18 years old to rent from OC Mobility Rentals. You may rent on behalf of another adult rider, but you remain responsible under these Terms.
  • You must be physically capable of safely operating the mobility scooter.
  • You are solely responsible for ensuring you meet any medical or physical requirements needed for use.

Our equipment has the following hard limits. Please confirm these before booking.

  • Maximum rider weight: 265 lbs.
  • Maximum incline: 6 degrees. Not suitable for steep streets or hillside neighborhoods.
  • Ground clearance: approximately 1.5 inches. The scooter cannot clear steps or thresholds taller than this.
  • Surfaces: smooth and paved only. Not rated for gravel, sand, grass, or unpaved paths.
  • Range: up to 12 miles per charge under ideal conditions; expect less with heavier riders, hills, or an older battery.
  • Charging: the scooter uses sealed lead-acid batteries and takes 10–12 hours to charge fully. Plan to charge overnight; it cannot be topped up quickly.

If you are unsure whether the equipment will work for your situation, call us before booking. We would rather tell you honestly than deliver something that will not work.

2. Rental Period & Return

  • The rental period begins at the time of delivery or pickup and ends at the agreed-upon return time.
  • Late returns may be subject to additional fees.
  • Equipment must be returned in the same condition it was provided, aside from normal wear and tear.

3. Renter Responsibilities

  • You agree to use the scooter safely and in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
  • You will not allow anyone else to operate the scooter unless expressly permitted by OC Mobility Rentals.
  • You will not operate the scooter on unsafe terrain, in water, or in any way that may cause damage.
  • You are responsible for keeping the scooter charged and reasonably protected from theft, vandalism, or damage.

4. Damage, Loss & Theft

  • You are responsible for any damage to, or loss of, the scooter while in your possession.
  • In the event of theft or irreparable damage, you may be charged up to the full replacement value of the scooter.
  • A cleaning fee may apply if the scooter is returned excessively dirty.

5. Payment & Card Authorization

  • Delivery fees: free within our South Orange County service area (Zone 1); flat $75 to North and inland Orange County (Zone 2); outside Orange County by quote. Your zone and fee are disclosed at booking, before payment.
  • Rentals starting within 14 days require full payment at the time of booking.
  • Rentals starting more than 14 days out are held with a 25% reservation payment, and the balance is charged 7 days before your start date. This is a partial payment toward your rental, not a refundable security deposit. No reservation is held without payment.
  • We do not place a separate refundable security deposit or authorization hold on your card. This does not mean damage is covered — you remain responsible for damage to the equipment as described in the Rental Agreement.
  • You authorize us to keep your card on file and charge it for late returns, excessive cleaning, damage beyond normal wear and tear (up to $500 per rental), or full replacement value if the equipment is not returned.
  • The posted rate is the full rental charge. No sales tax is added to rental receipts.

6. Cancellations & Refunds

  • 24+ hours before your start time: full refund.
  • Under 24 hours, or no-show: no refund.
  • Early returns are not refunded. Full details are in our Refund & Cancellation Policy.

7. Assumption of Risk & Liability Waiver

  • Operating a mobility scooter carries inherent risks, including the risk of accident, injury, or property damage.
  • You assume full responsibility for these risks and agree that OC Mobility Rentals is not liable for any injury, accident, or damage arising from use of the scooter.
  • To the fullest extent permitted by law, you waive any claims against OC Mobility Rentals, its employees, or affiliates.

8. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless OC Mobility Rentals from any claims, damages, or expenses (including attorney's fees) arising from your use of the scooter.

9. Termination

OC Mobility Rentals reserves the right to refuse service, cancel a rental, or retrieve equipment at any time if these terms are violated.

10. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of the State of California.

10a. Not Medical Advice

OC Mobility Rentals is an equipment rental company, not a medical provider. We do not evaluate, diagnose, prescribe, or fit equipment to a medical condition. Our scooters are rented for general mobility assistance and are not supplied on the basis of a prescription or clinical assessment. You are responsible for determining — with a physician or care provider if appropriate — whether the equipment is safe and suitable for the rider. Nothing we provide constitutes medical advice.

11. After-Hours & Emergency Situations

OC Mobility Rentals will make reasonable efforts to assist customers in after-hours or emergency situations; however, we cannot guarantee immediate service outside of normal business hours.

During such times, customers remain responsible for the scooter and for their own safety.

Once business hours reopen, OC Mobility Rentals will make every effort to provide prompt assistance and resolve the issue as quickly as possible.
